All good things come to an end

The conference that was organized here in Athens has come to a very successful end. Three full days of new perceptions about the Great War and the special relation that Art, and especially music, had with it. We had the pleasure to accommodate here in Athens a truly international group of scholars who decided to come even from different continents in order to join us and take part in this interesting dialogue. Among them of course, our keynote speaker Professor Christina Bashford who gave an extremely interesting last talk at the conference, which, in a sense, recapped the whole topic of the event. On that last day and during the final remarks of the conference, I decided to end with a video. I couldn’t have thought of a better closure.

On behalf of all the institutions who organized this conference I would like to express our gratitude to all speakers and delegates who joined us these three days. I hope that this exchange of ideas will continue and flourish towards a publication of the conference proceedings, something that I will come back to in a few days.
